Step 1: Gather Your Supplies

  • Warm water
  • Gentle detergent (preferably made specifically for cashmere)
  • White vinegar
  • Hydrogen peroxide
  • Soft towel

Step 2: Begin Treating Feces Stain

Start by mixing a solution of warm water and gentle detergent together. Dip a soft towel into the solution, then blot the stain and rinse the area with more warm water. Repeat this process several times until you no longer see any feces on the cashmere item.

Step 3: Apply White Vinegar

Once the visible feces has been removed, it's time to begin treating the stain. Take some white vinegar and pour it onto a soft towel. Blot the stain with the vinegar-dampened towel and let the vinegar sit for 5 minutes. Then, rinse the area with warm water again.

Step 4: Apply Hydrogen Peroxide

For tougher stains, use hydrogen peroxide. Pour a small amount of hydrogen peroxide onto a soft towel and blot the stain, making sure to keep the area damp but not soaked. Let the hydrogen peroxide sit for 5 minutes, then rinse the area with warm water.

Step 5: Air Dry the Cashmere Item

Once the stain has been treated, it's time to dry the cashmere item. To minimize shrinkage and damage, hang the item up to air dry. Do not put the cashmere item in the dryer!
