Things You'll Need
- Dish soap or laundry detergent
- White vinegar
- Old toothbrush
- Clean cloth
Instructions
- First, scrape off any solids from the cargo pants with a dull edge, like a spoon or butter knife.
- Mix one tablespoon of dish soap or laundry detergent and one cup of white vinegar in a bowl of warm water.
- Dip an old toothbrush into the mixture and scrub the affected area on the cargo pants.
- Rinse the pants in clean water and then allow them to air dry.
- Once the pants are dry, fold a small piece of clean cloth and dampen it with the same cleaning solution you used in the previous step.
- Scrub the stain with the damp cloth and then allow pants to dry completely.
- Once cargo pants are completely dry, inspect them for any remaining stains and repeat the cleaning process as needed.
Tips
- Always read the care label on your cargo pants before attempting to clean them.
- When washing with the dish soap or laundry detergent and white vinegar solution, be sure to use gentle circular motions to avoid damaging the fabric.
- If the stain persists, pre-treat it with a laundry stain remover before laundering.
