Step One: Blot the Stained Area

Your first step should be to take a damp cloth and blot the stained area gently. Don’t rub, as this could damage the fabric or cause the stain to spread. Instead, focus on gently lifting the stain away. After repeating this process several times, you’re ready for the next step.

Step Two: Soak the Cardigan

Fill a sink or bowl with cold water and a small amount of liquid laundry detergent. Add the cardigan and let it soak for 30 minutes if possible. This will help to further lift the stain. After it has been soaked, rinse the cardigan in cold water before proceeding to step three.

Step Three: Wash the Cardigan

Place the cardigan in washing machine with a similar colour of clothing, then run the machine on the "gentle" setting. If the stain is still visible after the wash cycle is complete, repeat steps one and two before running the washing machine again.

Voila!

With these simple steps, your cardigan should be looking like new again. There’s nothing worse than a stain that won’t come out, so follow these instructions for best results.
