No one wants to think about feces stains on clothing, but the fact is accidents happen. While your first instinct may be to throw away the stained garment, don't despair! You can quickly and easily remove those dreadful stains with a few simple steps.
The first step to banishing those stains is pre-treatment. You will start with a commercial pre-treatment solution. Apply an ample amount of the pre-treatment solution directly to the stain, being sure to cover entire stain. Let solution soak in for five minutes and then wash the garment according to the label's instructions.
Once the pre-treatment has done its job and item is washed, you want to inspect the stain. Make sure that the entire stain has been removed. If not, reapply the pre-treatment solution and rewash. Repeat process until the stain is completely gone.
It's important to dry garments as soon as they have been washed. Most items can simply be air dried by hanging them in a well-ventilated area. For delicate items, such as blouses, you should use the lowest heat setting on your dryer. This will help ensure the fabric isn’t damaged during drying process.
Once the garment is completely dry, check status of the stain. If there is still a mark or discoloration, it’s time to break out stain killers. Start with an enzyme-based detergent. Apply the detergent directly to stain and allow it to soak for 15 minutes. Then, rinse the blouse with cold water and inspect the stain again. Repeat this process until the stain is completely gone.
Once the stain is gone, your blouse will be good as new. Wash it one more time to make sure it is clean and then enjoy wearing it again!
