Step 1: Collect Supplies

Gather your supplies: paper towels, laundry detergent, wiping cloths, a spray bottle filled with water, and a toothbrush. If you don't have laundry detergent, a mild soap will work as well.

Step 2: Blot Stain

Take a paper towel and blot the area with the stain. This will help absorb the majority of mess, so it doesn't set further into the fabric.

Step 3: Make a Cleaning Solution

Mix one tablespoon of laundry detergent with one cup of warm water in a spray bottle, then shake until mixed.

Step 4: Scrub the Stain

Spray affected area liberally with the cleaning solution, then use a toothbrush to scrub the stain gently. Be careful not to rub too hard, as this can damage the material of the ballet flats.

Step 5: Rinse and Dry

Once the stain has been scrubbed off, use a damp cloth to rinse and wipe away any remaining residue. Allow the shoes to air-dry, or use a blow dryer set on the low setting to speed up the process.
