What You’ll Need

  • Bowl of warm water.
  • White cloth.
  • Mild liquid soap.
  • Nail polish remover.

Step One: Prepare the Work Area

Layout a clean, lint-free cloth on a flat surface. Place the wallet on the cloth with the stained side up. Drop a few drops of mild liquid soap into the bowl of warm water.

Step Two: Dip the Cloth in Soapy Water

Dip the white cloth into the soapy water, rubbing it gently between your fingers. Wring out the excess water until cloth is just damp.

Step Three: Wipe the Stain

Gently rub the wet cloth onto the stain until the eye shadow has been removed. Re-wet cloth as needed.

Step Four: Try Nail Polish Remover (Optional)

If the stain isn't fully removed, try dabbing a cloth saturated with nail polish remover onto the area. Take care to avoid contact with other parts of the wallet. Note that nail polish remover should not be used on leather wallets.

Step Five: Dry Wallet

Leave the wallet out to air dry. Do not place in direct sunlight or use a hairdryer as the heat may damage the material.

Step Six: Use a Protectant

Once your wallet is dry, finish by wiping it down with a protectant such as Beeswax or leather cleaner. This will help prevent future stains and keep your wallet looking its best.
