Steps for Removing Eye Shadow Stains from Uniform Fabrics

  1. Dab the stain with a cloth dampened with a solution of two cups of warm water and one teaspoon of dishwashing liquid. Be careful not to rub the stain, as this will only spread it further.
  2. Once the bulk of the stain is removed, pre-treat area with a laundry spot cleaner. If you don’t have any spot cleaner, make your own by mixing ¼ teaspoon of white vinegar, ½ teaspoon of dishwashing liquid, and 6 drops of lemon juice.
  3. Apply the pre-treatment to the stain and let it sit for a few minutes before rinsing with cool water.
  4. Wash the garment according to the instructions on the tag (it is important to check the label before beginning any cleaning process).
  5. Finally, hang the garment to air dry.

Additional Tips

  • Be sure to check the label before laundering garment to ensure that the cleaning method is safe for the fabric.
  • If the stain persists, take the garment to a professional cleaner.
  • When wearing eye shadow, apply a makeup primer beforehand to help protect the clothing.
