Steps for Removing Eye Shadow Stains from Uniform Fabrics
- Dab the stain with a cloth dampened with a solution of two cups of warm water and one teaspoon of dishwashing liquid. Be careful not to rub the stain, as this will only spread it further.
- Once the bulk of the stain is removed, pre-treat area with a laundry spot cleaner. If you don’t have any spot cleaner, make your own by mixing ¼ teaspoon of white vinegar, ½ teaspoon of dishwashing liquid, and 6 drops of lemon juice.
- Apply the pre-treatment to the stain and let it sit for a few minutes before rinsing with cool water.
- Wash the garment according to the instructions on the tag (it is important to check the label before beginning any cleaning process).
- Finally, hang the garment to air dry.
Additional Tips
- Be sure to check the label before laundering garment to ensure that the cleaning method is safe for the fabric.
- If the stain persists, take the garment to a professional cleaner.
- When wearing eye shadow, apply a makeup primer beforehand to help protect the clothing.
