Fortunately, cleaning up eye shadow spills on umbrellas doesn't have to be complicated or time consuming. With the right tools and cleaning techniques, you can easily restore your umbrella's original appearance with minimal effort.

Things You'll Need:

  • Clean cloth
  • Mild detergent
  • White vinegar
  • Rubbing alcohol

Step 1: Gently blot the area

Carefully blot the area with a clean cloth to remove any excess eye shadow and prevent it from spreading. Make sure to not rub the cloth too hard so you won't damage the fabric of the umbrella.

Step 2: Prepare a cleaning solution

Mix a tablespoon of mild detergent with a cup of cold water. You can also add a teaspoon of white vinegar to the solution to help break down eye shadow.

Step 3: Apply the solution

Dip cloth into the mixture and gently dab the stained area. Make sure to not scrub the fabric or else it may cause discoloration.

Step 4: Rinse the area

Rinse the stained area with fresh water and a clean cloth. Then, use a dry cloth to remove any moisture.

Step 5: Treat stubborn stains

If the stain is still there after the first few attempts, it's time to use rubbing alcohol. Dip a clean cloth into rubbing alcohol and gently dab the stain. This should do the trick!

Step 6: Let it air dry

Leave the umbrella outside in the sun to air dry and let the solution penetrate the fabric. Once it's completely dry, stain should be gone and your umbrella should look as good as new!
