When wearing a tuxedo, last thing you want is for any makeup to ruin it. Unfortunately, eye shadow can create some pretty nasty stains if you’re not careful. The good news is that there are tricks you can try to get rid of the stain. Follow these simple steps to keep your tuxedo looking tip-top.

Step 1: Spot Cleaning

Attempt to spot clean the eye shadow stain with a damp cloth. If the stain isn’t coming off, try using a lightly soaped cloth with some lukewarm water. Make sure to only dab the soapy cloth onto the stained area so you don’t spread the stain even further. This is probably the most effective way to get rid of the stain without having to use harsher methods.

Step 2: Baking Soda Paste

If the spot cleaning isn't working, make a paste out of baking soda and water. Rub this paste gently into the stained area with a soft bristled brush. Leave the paste on the stain for about 10 minutes before wiping it off. You may need to repeat this step a few times if stain doesn't come off right away.

Step 3: Shaving Cream

Shaving cream can be used as an alternative to baking soda and can help remove stubborn eye-shadow stains from your tuxedo. Put a small amount of shaving cream onto the stain and rub it in using a soft bristled brush. Leave for several minutes before wiping it off with a damp cloth.

Step 4: Laundry Detergent

If all else fails, you can try using laundry detergent. Make sure to test a small area of the tuxedo first and make sure there are no adverse reactions. Then mix a small amount of laundry detergent with warm water and rub it into the stained area with a soft bristled brush. Leave for a few minutes and wipe off with a damp cloth.

By following these steps, you should be able to remove any eye-shadow stains from your tuxedo. If the stain still doesn’t come off, it might be time to hire a professional dry cleaner.
