What You’ll Need:

  • Liquid laundry detergent
  • White vinegar
  • Cold water
  • Soft cloth or sponge

Step 1: Pre-Treat Stain

Before putting your tunic into the washing machine, it’s important to pre-treat the stained area. First, begin by applying a small amount of liquid laundry detergent directly onto the eye shadow stain. Then, place a damp cloth or sponge over the area and allow it to sit for 15 minutes.

Step 2: Wash the Garment

Once you’ve allowed the detergent to sit, put the garment into the washer. Wash the tunic with cold water and a small amount of white vinegar. The vinegar helps to break down the pigment left behind by the eye shadow and will help remove the stain more effectively.

Step 3: Dry Garment

When wash cycle is complete, dry your tunic as you normally would. Check the garment for any lingering stains before drying in the dryer, and if necessary, repeat the pre-treat and wash process.

How To Prevent Future Stains

To avoid this situation in future, be sure to apply makeup to your face after you’ve put on your clothing. Additionally, you should always use a makeup remover or face wash to remove all traces of makeup from your face after wearing your clothes.
