Step 1: Blot Stain

First, take a light-colored towel or a clean white cloth and gently blot the stained area of the coat. Do not rub the stain, as that could spread the mark out and make it harder to remove.

Step 2: Spot Clean with Cold Water

Next, fill a spray bottle with cold water. Spot clean the stain with the cold water and let the coat air dry.

Step 3: Use White Vinegar

Grab a white vinegar solution and use it to further spot clean the stain. Mix one part white vinegar with one part cold water and use a light-colored cloth to dab the mixture onto the stain.

Step 4: Use Baking Soda

Grab a box of baking soda and lightly sprinkle over the affected area. Let the baking soda sit for about 15-20 minutes. This should help lift the eye shadow stain from the fabric.

Step 5: Launder the Trench Coat Separately

Put the trench coat in the washing machine and set it to the lowest available heat setting. Make sure to launder the coat on its own, without any other items, as you don't want to stain them with the eye shadow. Wash with cold water as hot water can cause color settling.

Step 6: Air Dry the Coat

Once the trench coat is washed, let it air dry. Do not put the coat in the dryer, as that could fry the fabric and set the stain in place.

Step 7: Check Stain

Once the coat has air dried, check stain to make sure it has been removed. If there is still some residue left behind, repeat steps one through six.
