Getting stains out of fabric can be tricky, but fortunately removing eye shadow stains from your t-shirt is relatively straightforward. Depending on what kind of eye shadow you used and how set the stain is, it can take a couple of tries. Thankfully, there are tried-and-true methods to help you remove stain.

1. Treat the Stain with Water

The first thing you should do when trying to remove an eye shadow stain is act quickly. Immediately rinse the area with cold water and run it under a tap to help dislodge pigment from the fabric fibers. It’s important to use cold water as hot temperatures could make the stain permanent.

2. Apply a Stain Remover

If the stain persists after rinsing, then you may need to use a stain remover. Soak the affected area of t-shirt in a bowl of water with a few drops of detergent or rubbing alcohol for about 20 minutes. For extra stubborn stains, you can apply the remover directly to the fabric. Rub away at the stain gently using your fingers or a soft brush-this helps to loosen the particles so they can be easily washed away.

3. Rinse and Dry

After treating the stain, rinse it out thoroughly with cold water-warm temperatures can set stain further. If possible, leave the shirt to air dry, as tumble drying could make the stain irreversible. If you do decide to put your t-shirt in the dryer, the heat will help reduce the stain. Once done, inspect the area to make sure stain has gone.

4. Repeat if Necessary

Sometimes, even after following the steps above, the eye shadow stain can still remain. If that is the case, repeat the steps until the stain disappears. It might take a few attempts before the stain goes away completely.
