What You Need:

  • Mild laundry detergent
  • Stain remover
  • White cloths
  • Soft-bristled brush
  • Iron

Instructions

  1. Begin by filling a sink or bowl with warm water and one teaspoon of mild laundry detergent. Soak stained area for 15-20 minutes.
  2. Once it has finished soaking, gently blot the area with a white cloth to help remove the stain. Do not rub or scrub, as this can cause stain to spread.
  3. If stain remains, spray a bit of stain remover on affected area and let it sit for five minutes. Use a soft-bristled brush to carefully brush the area in a circular motion.
  4. Rinse garment with warm water to remove all the cleaning agents.
  5. Lay the garment out on a flat surface and use an iron set to the lowest heat setting to dry it. This will help to set the stain.
  6. If the stain is still visible, repeat the previous steps until it is gone.

Tips and Warnings

  • Be sure to spot test cleaning agents and ironing temperature before use.
  • Do not use hot water, as this can cause the silk fabric to shrink or become discolored.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals to remove the stain.
