It’s important to know the type of fabric your clothing is made from so you can use the right cleaning products and techniques. Natural fabrics such as cotton, linen, or wool will require a different approach than synthetics like polyester, rayon, or nylon.
Using a gentle laundry detergent, rub some soap into the eye shadow stain. If it’s a really stubborn stain, try using a pre-treatment spray or gel. Place a damp cloth over the stain and let it sit for 10 minutes before proceeding.
If you’re dealing with a natural fabric, use a mild detergent in warm water and let the clothing sit for about 10 minutes before rinsing out the soap. For synthetics, a cold wash with a mild detergent should do the trick.
Once the item has been washed, take a close look at it to see if any stains remain. If so, repeat steps two and three until the stain is gone.
Baking soda is a great alternative to store-bought cleaning supplies. Mix two tablespoons of baking soda with one cup of warm water and apply the paste directly to the stain. Leave it for 10 minutes before rinsing with cold water.
