Shearling is a material often used in outerwear, such as coats and jackets, and is made by tanning pelt of a sheep or lamb. As a result of its delicate construction, shearling is particularly vulnerable to messes like makeup stains. However, with right approach, you can easily clean those up with minimal fuss.

Steps to Clean Eye Shadow from Shearling

  1. Begin by gently brushing off any loose eye shadow particles with a soft cloth, taking care not to rub too hard and damage the fabric.
  2. Create a solution of one tablespoon laundry detergent mixed with one cup of lukewarm water.
  3. Dab the stained area with the solution using a cotton swab, and then wipe away the remaining residue with a damp cloth.
  4. Once the stain is gone, rinse the area with cool water and lightly dry with a towel.
  5. Allow to air-dry completely before wearing item again.

Eye makeup stains are an unfortunate reality of everyday life, but that doesn't mean they have to ruin your favorite shearling garments. With correct approach, you can have them looking just like new in no time.
