Using Dish Soap and Water

Start by mixing a few drops of non-abrasive dish detergent in a cup of warm water. Make sure detergent is non-abrasive, as abrasive products might damage the fabric. Then dip a clean cloth into the mixture and gently dab the stained area. Keep dabbing until you get rid of all the eye shadow. Do not rub the cloth against the material, as this could spread the stain instead of cleaning it.

Using Rubbing Alcohol

If the stain won't come out with soap and water alone, mix one part rubbing alcohol with two parts cold water in a small bowl. Soak a cloth in the solution and wring out any excess liquid. Then blot the stained area with cloth. Keep dabbing gently until you get rid of all the eye shadow. This method should take care of tougher stains.

Using Hydrogen Peroxide

Hydrogen peroxide is another great option for removing eye shadow stains from fabrics. Start by mixing three tablespoons of hydrogen peroxide with a tablespoon of warm water in a bowl. Dip a soft cloth into mixture and wring out any excess liquid. Then dab the stain with the cloth. Repeat until you remove as much of the stain as possible.

Using Baking Soda

If the stain is still there after trying the previous methods, try making a paste with baking soda and water. Mix two tablespoons of baking soda and a few drops of water together until you get a thick paste. Apply some of paste directly on the stained area and let it sit for a few minutes. Then use a damp cloth to dab the paste and the stain until you have removed as much of the eye shadow as possible. Wash the fabric with cold water and soap afterwards.

Additional Tips

  • Make sure to test any product or solution on an inconspicuous area before using it.
  • Always use a white or light-colored cloth, as darker colors can transfer onto the fabric.
  • Do not use hot water as it might set the stain.
  • If the stain persists, take the fabric to a professional cleaner.
