Removing Eye Shadow Stains from Fabrics

  • Before you begin treating the eye shadow stain, make sure the fabric is suitable for bleaching or scrubbing. Some more delicate fabrics may be damaged by bleaches, so check the care label and use gentle cleaning methods if necessary.
  • For a bleachable fabric, fill a bucket with warm water and one cup of bleach and submerge the stained part of robe. Soak for about an hour before rinsing and allowing it to air dry.
  • If your fabric isn't suitable for bleaching, start by blotting the stain with a damp cloth to remove as much of the eye shadow as possible. Then mix a few drops of mild detergent into a cup of lukewarm water and dab the washcloth into it.
  • Gently rub the stain in a circular motion until it is removed. Rinse fabric with warm water and allow it to air dry.

Additional Tips

  • Always read the care label of your fabric before attempting to treat a stain. If in doubt, use a gentler method and consider taking the garment to a professional cleaner.
  • For tougher stains, mix baking soda and dish soap together and apply to stained area. Leave on for 15 minutes before rinsing and drying.
  • If the stain persists, try using a commercial stain remover and follow the instructions on the packaging.
