Eye shadow can easily get smudged onto any surface it touches, and that includes your favorite purse. Whether you’re dealing with powder or cream-based eyeshadow, there are some easy methods you can use to clean off the stain. Here are three of the best:
If you have a stain remover spray or wipes specifically designed for fabric, those are probably your best bet. Just spray them over the area with the stain, and then let it sit for a few minutes before wiping it off. You should be able to see the stain starting to fade away. Before you proceed to step two, make sure the stain is completely gone.
If you don’t have any special stain remover product, you can easily make one at home. Just mix together a tablespoon of mild detergent (like dish soap) with one cup of warm water. Dip a cloth into the mixture and dab the area with stain a few times. Don’t rub cloth in circles, as this can spread the stain even more. Once you’re done, rinse the area with a damp cloth.
If the stain is stubborn and won’t go away, then this method should do the trick. Mix together equal parts rubbing alcohol and hydrogen peroxide and apply directly to the stain. Let mixture sit for a few minutes before wiping it off with a damp cloth. Make sure to avoid scrubbing, as this can damage the material.
No matter what type of purse you have, these methods should help you get rid of any eye shadow stains. The key is to act quickly and be careful not to rub the stains too hard, as this can cause further damage.
