Before you begin cleaning, check care label on your poncho to understand what type of fabric it is made from. Make sure cleaning methods outlined below are suitable for your fabric; if your poncho's label indicates 'dry clean only' then stop here and take it to a professional dry cleaner.
Use a paper towel or clean cloth to gently blot away any excess eye shadow that has been left on the poncho. Repeat this step until all the eye shadow has been absorbed by the cloth.
In a small bowl, mix together 1 tablespoon of dishwashing liquid and 4 cups of warm water. Stir the solution until the dishwashing liquid is fully dissolved.
Dip a clean cloth into the cleaning solution and gently dab the stained area of the poncho. Continue to dab the stain until it has disappeared.
Once the stain has been removed, rinse the area with cold, clean water. To ensure all the soap has been removed, use a clean cloth to dab area.
After the area has been rinsed and dried, hang the poncho in a well ventilated area and allow it to air dry. Do not use a clothes dryer to dry poncho as this may cause further damage to the fabric.
