Removing eye shadow stains from polyester is actually quite simple. First, using a butter knife or spoon, gently scrape off as much of the excess eye shadow from the fabric as you can. Next, apply a small amount of liquid detergent directly onto the eye shadow stain, and rub it in with a brush or cloth. Then, rinse the area with warm water. Finally, if the stain persists, create a mixture of equal parts of white vinegar and warm water, and dab the stained area with the solution. Let it sit for 30 minutes before washing it in the washing machine as normal.

In addition to this DIY method, there are also several commercial products that make removing eye shadow stains from polyester even easier. For example, Oxy-Clean is a great option that helps dissolve eye shadow pigment from the fabric without damaging it. Simply pre-treat the garment with a few drops of the product on the stained area, wait for 10 minutes, and then wash as normal.

As a precautionary measure, always double check the care labels on your clothing to ensure that the material is, in fact, polyester - as some fabrics may need to be treated different when removing stains. Additionally, when dealing with any kind of stain, it’s best to act quickly as old stains can become harder to remove, and you want to avoid letting them set in fabric for too long.
