Peau de soie is a medium-weight silk fabric with a glossy finish that is typically used for special occasion apparel. It’s also sometimes used in interior decoration. Peau de soie is delicate and needs to be treated with care, especially when it comes to removing stains.
Use a clean cloth to gently blot eye shadow on affected area of the fabric. This helps to loosen the stain and prevent it from spreading.
Dampen the toothbrush with rubbing alcohol and gently scrub the area using a circular motion. Do not press too hard as this could damage the fabric. Allow rubbing alcohol to remain on the fabric for 10 minutes.
Cover the stained area with dry cleaning solution and allow it to remain on the fabric for about five minutes. Again, use a circular motion to gently scrub area with the toothbrush.
Finish by rinsing the area with cool water to remove any remaining residue. Blot the area dry with a clean cloth.
