The first step to removing eye shadow from jeans is to apply a stain remover. Look for one specifically designed for removing oil-based stains like makeup. Spray or dab the stain remover onto the affected area, making sure that you cover the entire area.
Once the stain remover is applied, allow the jeans to soak in cold water. This will help break down the eye shadow so that it can be more easily removed. Aim for at least an hour for the soaking time, ideally up to 3 or 4 hours.
After jeans have soaked, you can put them in the washing machine. When doing so, make sure to use a detergent specifically designed for colored items. Avoid bleach at all costs, as this can cause damage and discoloration.
When the washing cycle is finished, take the jeans out of the washer and hang them up to dry. Do not put them into the dryer, as this could set stain. Let the jeans air-dry and check to see if the stain is gone. If not, repeat Steps 1-3 before air-drying again.
