Eyeshadow stains can leave a noticeable mark on clothing, particularly jackets. Whether you've got a powders, creams or liquid eye shadow, the stain is likely to stick around if you don't take immediate action. Fortunately, there are several proven methods for removing the stain, restoring your jacket to its former glory.
The first step is to quickly blot the stain with a cloth or paper towel. This will help to absorb most of the eye shadow before it spreads and sinks further into fabric.
In a bowl, mix a few squirts of laundry detergent with warm water. Dip corner of a cloth or an old toothbrush into the soapy solution and gently scrub the stain in a circular motion. Then, rinse the garment with cool water and pat dry with a fresh cloth.
If stain remains, you may want to try using rubbing alcohol. Put a few drops of rubbing alcohol onto a cotton swab and dab it gently onto the stain. Once you've finished, rinse the fabric thoroughly and pat it dry.
To finish off, machine wash item as you normally would - taking care to check the label first. If possible, use a colour-safe detergent and set the wash temperature to cold.
By following these simple steps, you should be able to remove any eye shadow stain from your favourite jacket. And if the stain still doesn't budge, it may be time to call in a professional cleaner.
