3 Easy Steps to Clean Eye Shadow Stains from Garters
Garters are a great way to keep your stockings up, but eye shadows can easily create stains if spilled on the fabric. Luckily, it's easy to remove the stain! Read on for our three simple steps to getting your garters back to their pre-makeup glory.

Step 1: Blot the Stain with a Towel
The first step is to blot the affected area with a clean towel. If you don’t have one, you can use paper towels in a pinch. Apply pressure to absorb as much of the makeup as possible without rubbing, as this could spread stain.
Step 2: Treat the Stain with a Mild Detergent
Create a mild detergent solution in a bowl by combining one tablespoon of dishwashing liquid and one cup of cool water. Make sure to use a gentle and non-abrasive detergent; otherwise, it could further damage the garter fabric.
Dip a cotton swab in the solution and lightly dab the stained area until the makeup comes off. Don’t rub the stain, as it may spread makeup.
Step 3: Rinse with Cool Water
Now that you’ve removed as much of the stain as possible, rinse the affected area with cool water. If you don’t see any results, repeat the previous steps until the mark is gone.
Once the stain is removed, dry the garter by either hanging it to air dry or using a blow dryer set to low heat.
