Take your Fendi piece to a professional dry cleaner and explain the issue. Be sure to mention that it’s a delicate fabric as not all cleaners are used to dealing with high-end materials. The cleaner should be able to identify the stain and decide how to treat it. Most likely, they will use a solvent like a liquid detergent mixed with lukewarm water. Soaking the fabric for about 10 minutes, followed by gentle dabbing and wiping, should do the trick!
If you don’t feel comfortable taking your Fendi piece to a dry cleaner, you can also tackle the job yourself. Start by carefully scraping off visible eye shadow with a blunt knife. Then, put some liquid detergent or a soft soap on a clean cloth and gently dab stain. For extra stubborn stains, mix a bit of ammonia with warm water, dip a cloth in the solution and dab stain. Finally, rinse the garment with cold water and let it air dry.
The best way to deal with stains is not to get them in the first place! Whenever you’re wearing your Fendi piece, make sure to cover it with a scarf or a shawl so that any traces of makeup residue don’t get on it.
