Step 1: Remove Excess Eye Shadow

The key to cleaning eye shadow stains is to act fast! Use a blunt-edged knife or spoon to gently scrape off any excess eye shadow that is still on the fabric. Be sure to use gentle strokes so as not to damage the material.

Step 2: Pre-Treat with Spot Treatment

To pre-treat the stain, apply a few drops of spot treatment directly onto the affected area. Allow treatment to sit for 10-15 minutes before wiping it off gently with a damp microfiber cloth.

Step 3: Wash as Usual

After pre-treating the area, throw the evening gown in the washer. Select the gentle cycle on your machine, and make sure to wash the item with cold water. Add a gentle detergent – such as an organic one without a lot of harsh chemicals – to the load to help remove any remaining traces of the stain.

Step 4: Check For Remaining Stains

Once the garment has been washed, carefully inspect it for any remaining eye shadows stains. If any stubborn stains remain, repeat the pre-treatment process and then washing as usual.

Step 5: Dry and Enjoy!

Once all the stains have been removed, place the evening gown in the dryer for 15-20 minutes on low heat. Then hang it up to finish drying. Once it’s completely dry, it’s ready to wear and enjoy!
