Gingham cotton is a timeless fabric that can be dressed up or down for any occasion. Unfortunately, it can also be difficult to clean if you get stains on it. Eye shadow is an especially tricky stain to remove from gingham cotton.
What You will Need:
- Rubbing alcohol
- Soft cloths
- Colored-safe detergent
- White vinegar
- Iron
Steps:
- Blot area with a clean, soft cloth to absorb as much of the eye shadow as possible.
- Turn the affected area inside out.
- Mix 1/4 cup rubbing alcohol with 2 tablespoon white vinegar, then pour it onto the stain.
- Using another soft cloth, gently massage mixture into the stain.
- Let sit for 15 minutes.
- Rinse the area with cold water.
- Soak the item in colored-safe detergent for 30 minutes.
- Rinse again with cold water.
- Air dry the garment or item.
- If the stain persists, put the item through another cycle of cleaning steps.
- Once the stain has been removed, use an iron to restore the area of the garment to its original shape.
