Before you start cleaning, it’s important to identify what kind of eye shadow stain you’re dealing with. Powdered eye shadow is typically easier to remove than liquid or cream formulas.
Once you’ve identified your stain, grab the following supplies: a white cloth; a few tablespoons of dish soap in a bowl of warm water; a few tablespoons of vinegar in a separate bowl of warm water; paper towels; and a few drops of rubbing alcohol.
The first step in removing an eye shadow stain is to pretreat it with your vinegar and water solution. Dip your white cloth in mixture and dab it onto the stain. Allow the solution to sit for a few minutes.
Next, apply the soap solution to stain. Rub the area lightly in a gentle, circular motion, and continue until the stain begins to fade. Rinse the area with lukewarm water and allow it to dry.
If the stain still remains after you’ve rinsed and dried the area, try using rubbing alcohol. Dip a new white cloth in the rubbing alcohol and blot the stain. Keep blotting until the stain disappears.
Finally, dry the area with paper towels or a clean, white cloth. Allow the fabric to air dry for a few hours before wearing.
