What You'll Need

  • Gentle detergent
  • White cotton cloth
  • Bowl of lukewarm water
  • Soft-bristled brush

Step 1: Blot Up Excess Product

Before attempting to clean the stain, blot away as much of the eye shadow as possible with a white cotton cloth. Take care not to rub stain, as this could cause it to spread out even further.

Step 2: Prepare a Solution of Detergent & Lukewarm Water

Once you have removed the excess eye shadow, prepare a solution using lukewarm water and gentle detergent. Mix the two together until the detergent is fully incorporated into the water.

Step 3: Soak a Soft-Bristled Brush in the Solution

Take a soft-bristled brush and soak it in the solution. Gently scrub the stain in a circular motion, making sure to avoid making vigorous motions that could damage the fabric.

Step 4: Rinse with Cold Water and Let Air-dry

Once you are finished scrubbing, rinse the cashmere garment with cold water, then allow it to air-dry. Do not use a dryer or attempt to wring it out, as this could cause the garment to shrink and lose its shape.

Conclusion

Eye shadow stains on cashmere garments can be difficult to remove, but with right knowledge and materials, it can definitely be done! Take your time and be gentle when cleaning stain, and you should be able to get your garment looking like new in no time.
