To get started, put on a pair of rubber gloves. This is important to protect your hands from potential irritation due to harsh ingredients that may be found in the cleaning solutions you're using or the makeup itself.
Next, choose an appropriate cleaner according to the type of eye shadow stain you're dealing with. For water-based stains, try a solution of one part liquid dish soap mixed with one part hydrogen peroxide. For oil-based stains, use a mild detergent mixed with water, or a commercial pre-treater.
Once you've chosen the right cleaner, apply it directly to stained area and let it sit for several minutes. When the time is up, rinse off the cleaner with warm water and blot stain with a clean towel. Do not scrub the spot as this can damage the fabric.
Finally, if the stain still persists, run your calico cloth through the washing machine on a cool setting. Tumble dry on its own, or hang to air dry.
