Before you begin, consider the type of fabric the ball gown is made of. If there are any tags, check them to make sure you know exactly what type of fabric you’re dealing with.
Step 1: Start off by gently removing as much of the eye shadow as possible using a soft cloth or sponge. Do not scrub the stain – this can cause damage to the fabric.
Step 2: Prepare a solution of cold water and white vinegar. Mix in one teaspoon of table salt and a few drops of oxygenated bleach. Soak a small part of the gown in the solution to make sure there is no discoloration, then dip a soft cloth in the mixture and dab the stained area gently.
Step 3: Another method that can be used is to apply baking soda directly to the stain. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes, then use a damp cloth to blot the baking soda away. Rinse the area with cold water and check if the stain has been removed.
Step 4: For stubborn eye shadow stains, mix equal parts of white vinegar and oxygenated bleach together and dab the solution onto the stain using a soft cloth or sponge. Allow the mixture to sit for about 5-7 minutes, then rinse the area with cold water.
Step 5: Repeat steps 2-4 until the eye shadow stain is completely removed.
Once you’ve removed eye shadow stain, hang your ball gown out to dry in a well-ventilated room. Avoid direct sunlight or other sources of heat when drying.
