Step One: Boil Some Water

The first step is to bring some water to a boil in an electric kettle or saucepan. Once it’s boiling, pour the hot water over your stained baking dish and leave it to soak for around 15 minutes. This will help to loosen the eye shadow and make it easier to remove.

Step Two: Apply Soap

After your dish has soaked for 15 minutes, grab a sponge or scrub brush and work some mild soap into the stained area. You can use either dish soap or laundry detergent for this — whichever you have to hand.

Step Three: Scrub Away

Once you’ve worked the soap into stain, take a cloth or scouring pad and give the stained area a thorough scrub. Don’t be afraid to put some elbow grease into it — it might take a little while for the eye shadow to finally come off.

Step Four: Rinse Off And Dry

Once you’ve finished scrubbing, rinse the area with cold water and then dry off using paper towels or a clean cloth. Your baking dish should now be free of eye shadow stains and ready to be reused.

Cleaning Tip: Avoid Heat

One thing to keep in mind when cleaning eye shadow from baking dishes is to avoid heat, as this can cause the stains to set. On top of that, never use any abrasive materials like steel wool or scouring powder, as these can scratch or even chip surface of your dish.
