Diaper changes can quickly lead to stains on any type of material, especially if you’re not quick enough to spot and treat them as soon as they happen. Wool poses some additional challenges in that regard as it’s prone to shrinkage and discoloration if you don’t treat it properly. Here’s what to do:

Create a Solutions with the Right Ingredients

The first step is to create a cleaning solution that will be safe for your wool garment. You need a mild detergent or a baby-safe laundry cleaning product, such as a soap made with coconut oil or olive oil. You also need a soft-bristled brush, white vinegar, and cold water.

Gently Brush Away the Stain

Take a soft brush and use it to gently brush away any residue that remains on fabric. Be careful not to rub too hard as you could damage the wool. Next you’ll need to apply the cleaning solution you created. Use a cloth or sponge to apply the detergent to stained area and allow it to sit for a few minutes.

Rinse and Repeat

When solution has had time to work its magic, rinse the area with cold water. If the stain remains, simply repeat the process until the stain is gone. If the stain is still visible after multiple repeated cleanings, you may want to consider using a stain remover specifically designed for wool.

Let It Air Dry

Once the stain has been completely removed, let the garment air dry. To speed up the process you can use a fan or a hair dryer on the low setting. After the item has completely dried, you can press it as usual.
