Take the stained clothing article and shake off any excess particles such as small pieces of food or dirt. Then, lay the item flat on a clean surface. If you have access to a steam press, ironing the stained area can help to loosen up stain.
Using a pre-treated stain remover like Oxyclean, pour a small amount onto the stain. Let it sit for at least five minutes before scrubbing gently with a soft brush.
Fill a sink or bucket with warm water and add a few drops of laundry detergent. Submerge item in the detergent-water solution and let it soak overnight.
To remove any remaining residue, put item in the washing machine on a normal cycle with cold water. For extra stain removal power, use a color-safe bleach like Clorox 2. If the item is delicate, consider using a gentle cycle and handwashing the item instead.
Once the item has been properly washed, hang it up to air-dry. Avoid placing the item in dryer, as this can set the stain further into the fabric.
Once the item is completely dry, inspect it closely for any remaining stains. If there are any less visible stains still present, repeat Steps 2 through 5 until the stain is fully removed.
It may take some time and effort, but removing diaper stains from white clothes is possible. With patience and by following the steps outlined above, you can easily restore your white clothing items back to their original glory.
