The first step in removing a diaper stain is to pre-treat it with a stain-removing product of your choice. We suggest spot treating the stain with a mixture of laundry detergent and water. Simply mix 2 tablespoons of laundry detergent with 1 quart of warm water and stir until it forms a paste. Apply the paste directly onto the stained area, let it sit for 10 minutes and then rinse off with cold water.
Once you've pre-treated stain, it's time to launder the clothing in your washing machine. Start by setting the washer to the coldest temperature possible and adding ½ cup of laundry detergent. Place the clothing in the washer and let it agitate for 5 minutes before pausing it to add ¼ cup of white vinegar to the drum. This will help break down even the toughest diaper stains. Let the machine finish its cycle and then transfer the clothing to dryer.
The last step in getting rid of diaper stains is to set the stain with heat. Put the clothing in the dryer and set it to the highest heat setting to help further set stain before it sets in permanently. After the cycle is finished, hang the garment up to air dry. Once it's completely dry, check the stained area. If the stain is still visible, repeat steps 1-3 until the stain is completely removed.
