Before tackling any particularly nasty diaper stain, it’s important to pre-treat the area first. For twill fabric, you’ll want to use a pre-treatment solution that is safe for material. Many twill garments will require a gentler pre-treatment compared to regular cotton fabrics.
After pre-treating the area, it’s time to launder the twill item as usual. Wash the garment in hot water with your usual detergent and fabric softener. The combination of the pre-treatment solution and hot water should do most of the work in removing the unsightly diaper stains.
If the diaper stain is particularly stubborn and remains even after washing, you can try using a specialized stain remover. When using a stain remover on twill fabric, always test product on an inconspicuous area of the garment before applying to the stained area. This will make sure that the fabric isn't damaged by the strong nature of the stain remover.
Once stain has been removed, you’ll want to make sure you rinse the area thoroughly. This step is extremely important, as traces of pre-treatment or stain remover can damage fabric if not properly removed. Rinse the area a few times to ensure that all of the product has been removed.
When drying the twill fabric, you'll want to make sure that you don't place it in the dryer. Instead, hang the item up and let it air dry. Heat from the dryer can often set stains, making them even more difficult to remove.
Cleaning diaper stains from twill fabrics doesn't have to be difficult. By following these simple steps, you can easily get rid of any pesky diaper stains in no time at all!
