Removing Diaper Stains

Accidents happen when you're dealing with a young baby, and those diaper spills can leave awkward stains that may seem impossible to remove. But don't despair — you can make your stained clothing as good as new with this easy cleaning routine.

Step 1: Pre-Treat the Stain

Using a spray bottle, wet the stain with lukewarm water and generously apply laundry detergent or a spot-cleaning solution specifically designed for getting rid of diaper stains. Let the stain sit for several minutes in order to let the pre-treatment work.

Step 2: Wash the Shirt

Load the stained article into washer and use the hottest water setting that is suitable for fabric. Add mild laundry detergent. Leave the shirt to run through the cycle and check the stain when the cycle is finished. Keep in mind that some diapers contain substances that act as a waterproof barrier, so even after going through the wash, it might still be visible.

Step 3: Air Dry or Use the Dryer

If the stain has gone, then you can dry the shirt either in a tumble dryer or air-dry it. If the stain has not disappeared, repeat steps 1 and 2 before you put the shirt in the dryer.

Conclusion

Accidents with baby diapers will always happen, but thanks to this easy routine you don't have to worry about having to throw out stained clothing anymore. Keep in mind that this cleaning technique applies to any type of fabric, and that you should always check the garment's label before washing.
