Using a cloth or brush, pre-treat the stained garment with dish soap or laundry detergent. This will help break down the stain and make it easier to remove.
Once the top has been pre-treated, submerge it in a sink or basin of warm water. Make sure the garment is fully submerged and allow it to soak for 10-15 minutes before agitating the fabric to help loosen the stain.
Once the stained area has been agitated, rinse the fabric in cold water and ring out any excess moisture. The longer the fabric remains wet, harder it will be to remove the stain.
After rinsing and wringing out the fabric, re-treat the stained area with white vinegar. Apply the vinegar directly to stain and allow it to sit for 15-20 minutes before agitating the fabric once again.
After agitation, put the top in washing machine with a regular load of laundry. Use a gentle cycle and cold water to avoid further staining. Upon completion, examine the garment for traces of the stain. If necessary, repeat the process until the stain is completely removed.
