To ensure that all of the stain is targeted, spread out the fabric and examine it for any areas that may have been missed. For a more thorough cleaning, you can also hold the lace up to a light source to see if any patches may have been overlooked.
Using a cotton swab, apply a small amount of white vinegar to the stain. This will help loosen up the particles and make them easier to remove. Once the vinegar has been applied to stain, let it sit and soak in for a few minutes.
Once the vinegar has had time to set, dip a soft bristled brush in some detergent and begin to gently scrub the area. It is important to be gentle when cleaning these pieces of lace as they are delicate and can easily become damaged if too much pressure is applied.
Once the area has been cleaned, rinse piece of fabric under cold water to remove any remaining residue. After rinsing, hang the piece up and allow it to air dry.
Cleaning diaper stains from Teneriffe lace is not an impossible task, but it does take patience and care. With the right supplies and a bit of elbow grease, you can restore the beauty of your lace and be proud of results.
