berry It's common that a baby or toddler may accidentally soil their bathing suit while out at the pool. Accidents happen, and when they do, it can be helpful to know exactly how to clean diaper stains from swimwear. First and foremost, key is to act quickly before the stain sets in. Make sure to gently rinse the garment in cool water as soon as possible to get rid of any extra residue. It's also important to not rub the stain or use hot water as this could set the marks into the fabric permanently. Once extra debris is removed, you can begin to treat the diaper stain. Increase the heat of your water slightly to just below boiling, as this will help break down the staining material. Then, mix a few drops of dishwashing liquid with warm water, and submerge the garment completely. This should help to loosen the stain and dissolve those tough stains. Next, it’s time to start scrubbing. Using an old toothbrush, lightly scrub the stained fabric in a circular motion, as this will help to loosen the marks. Pay extra attention to the area facing the sun as this can cause stains to set in more easily. Once you’ve finished scrubbing, rinse garment in cool water and re-submerge it in the soapy mixture for a few minutes more. Finally, rinse the swimwear one last time, and hang it to dry in a well-ventilated spot. To be extra sure, you can also machine wash the garment on a gentle cycle using cold water. If stains don't come out, you may need to repeat process or try a stronger stain remover.
