Step 1: Treating the Stain

Mix together equal parts laundry detergent, white vinegar and water. Using a cloth or sponge, dab the solution onto stained area of the sweater. Allow the mixture to sit for 15 minutes. After time has passed, gently massage fabric together to help break down dirt and residue from the stain.

Step 2: Rinse the Stain

Using cold running water, rinse the stained area of the sweater. As you do so, use your fingers to gently work the fabric together to ensure all the soapy residue is removed.

Step 3: Machine Wash the Sweater

After the stain has been rinsed off, it’s time to machine wash the sweater. Place the garment into the washer and set cycle to a gentle setting. Use a mild laundry detergent and add a scoop of baking soda to the load. This will help to remove any lingering odors. Once the cycle has finished, hang the sweater to dry.

Conclusion:

Getting diaper stains out of a beloved sweater may sound daunting but, with these three easy steps, you can restore the garment to its pre-diaper glory. In no time at all, your stained sweater will be ready for snuggles and play dates.
