As soon as possible, rinse stained portion of the dress in cold running water. Then, if the stain remains, fill a sink or basin with luke-warm water and a capful of a gentle laundry detergent. Submerge the stained portion of the sundress in the mixture and let it soak for 15-20 minutes before proceeding to next step. This will help loosen any residual stain particles that may be left in the fabric.
Apply a stain remover directly onto the stained area. The type of product you choose is important — make sure to use a gentler product designed for delicate fabrics such as those commonly used in sundresses. Allow the pre-treatment to sit on the spot for 5-10 minutes drawing out any remaining stain particles.
When the pre-treatment has had a chance to set, launder the sundress as usual according to the manufacturer's instructions. You can use your regular laundry detergent, however, you may wish to add an extra boost of cleaning power by adding a color-safe bleach for whites or brighteners for colors. Once complete, allow your freshly laundered sundress to air dry and enjoy results!
