The first step in tackling diaper stains is to scrape as much of excess solid material off the fabric as possible using a butter knife or a spoon. Don’t use too much pressure, as that might damage the fabric.
Submerge the affected area in cold water for at least twenty minutes. This will help to loosen the stain, making it easier to clean. If necessary, add a mild detergent to the water, as this can help to break down stains.
After soaking, apply laundry detergent directly to the stain and gently rub it into the fabric. Let the detergent sit for about fifteen minutes before gently scrubbing the stain with a soft brush.
Once the stain has been pretreated, place the garment in the washing machine and select the appropriate setting for the type of fabric. Make sure to not overload the machine and use a mild detergent and cold water to prevent color fading.
Once the suit is out of the washer, check stain to see if it has been removed. If not, repeat steps 3 and 4. Once the stain is gone, hang the suit up to dry.
Diaper stains on suits can be tough to remove, but with the right approach, you can restore your garments to their former glory. Follow the steps outlined above and you’ll be able to get those pesky spots out in no time!
