Before you get started cleaning your bra, make sure to have the following items on hand:
Using a clean cloth, blot stain to remove any excess moisture. Mix equal parts laundry detergent and warm water in a bucket, then dip a clean toothbrush into the mixture. Use the toothbrush to gently scrub the stain with a circular motion. Don't rub too hard as this can cause damage to the fabric.
After you’ve pre-treated the stain, it’s time to apply a stain remover. Many people recommend OxyClean for stubborn stains, but if you have a different product that has worked for you in the past, feel free to use that. Follow the directions on the package for the best results.
Once you’ve successfully removed the stain, you’re ready to wash your bra. Place it in the washing machine with a gentle cycle and lukewarm water. Use your regular laundry detergent and a small amount of fabric softener to keep the fabric feeling soft. Be sure to turn the bra inside out before running the cycle to prevent any further damage.
When the cycle is complete, remove the bra from the washing machine and hang it up to air dry. Avoid putting it in the dryer as this can cause shrinkage, loss of elasticity, and fading. Hanging it up is the best way to ensure that it retains its shape and dry quickly.
