Start by removing any excess solid material from the spandex fabric. Then, use a damp cloth to blot stain lightly. Doing this will help loosen up the stain so it’s easier to remove. Be sure not to rub too much or you may cause stain to spread further.
After blotting up any excess material, spray the stained area with a pre-treatment solution designed for removing diaper stains. Let the pre-treatment sit for 10 minutes to give it time to work. Then, use the same damp cloth to blot the stain again, lifting off any remaining material.
After blotting the stain, rinse out the pre-treatment with cold water. Take care not to scrub the fabric as this could cause the stain to spread or set deeper into the fabric.
Once you’ve thoroughly rinsed the pre-treatment out of the fabric, apply a laundry detergent directly onto the stain. Then, using a soft brush, gently scrub the detergent into the fabric with circular motions. This helps to loosen up the stain and helps lift it out of the fabric.
Once you’ve finished scrubbing the detergent in, rinse off the fabric with cold water. Then, wash spandex as you normally would, either in the washing machine or by hand. Finally, dry the fabric as directed, and your spandex should now be free of any unpleasant diaper stains!
Removing diaper stains from spandex doesn’t have to be a difficult task. With right products and a few simple steps, you can easily get rid of any unsightly stains from this delicate fabric. Give it a try and make your spandex look as good as new!
