Step 1: Absorb Excess Moisture

The first step in cleaning a diaper stain from silk crepe de chine is to absorb excess moisture. Blot the stain with a clean cloth or paper towel, pressing lightly to absorb as much moisture as possible.

Step 2: Pre-Treat Stain

Once the excess moisture has been absorbed, pre-treat the stain with a stain remover. Choose a stain remover specifically designed for use on delicate fabrics. Apply the stain remover according to the instructions on the product label.

Step 3: Rinse with Cold Water

Next, rinse the stained area with cold water. Use a damp cloth or sponge to gently rub the stained area, working in a circular motion.

Step 4: Wash in Delicate Cycle

After rinsing stain, place item in the washing machine on the delicate cycle. Be sure to use a gentle detergent that is specifically designed for delicate fabrics. Do not mix the silk crepe de chine with any other fabrics.

Step 5: Air Dry

Once the wash cycle is complete, hang the item up to air dry. Do not put it in the dryer, as this may cause damage to the delicate fabric.

Step 7: Inspect Before Wearing

Finally, inspect the item once it is completely dry. If the stain is still visible, repeat the cleaning steps until it is completely gone. Once the stain is removed, the item is ready to wear.
