Step 1: Pre-Treat With Baking Soda & Water

Start by creating a baking soda paste using one part baking soda and two parts water. Carefully dab the mixture onto stained area, making sure not to spread the stain. Let this sit for up to five minutes before rinsing with cold water.

Step 2: Use a White Vinegar Solution

Once the stain appears to be gone, it's time to use a white vinegar solution. Simply mix one part white vinegar to three parts of lukewarm water and apply it to the stain. Gently rub the fabric together then rinse with cold water.

Step 3: Rinse With Cold Water

Finally, make sure to rinse the fabric with cold water once more. This will help to get rid of any leftover residue from baking soda and vinegar solutions.

Step 4: Air Dry or Use Low Heat

Once the fabric has been rinsed, you can either let it air dry or put it in the dryer on lowest heat setting. Avoid using high heat as this can set stain and damaging the silk fibers.

Step 5: Store in a Cool, Dry Place

Finally, don’t forget to store your freshly-cleaned silk charmeuse fabric in a cool, dry place. This will help to protect the fabric from further damage.
