Before starting the cleaning process, always make sure to test the fabric. Take a small corner of the sarong and rub it with a white cloth soaked in warm water. Check to see if color of the fabric has run or faded in process. If the color has changed, then never proceed to the cleaning process.
Start by gently blotting away the stain with a white cloth or paper towel. Don't ever rub or scrub the fabric as it can cause additional damage.
Fill a bucket or sink with lukewarm water. Add some detergent or laundry soap and mix it until it completely dissolves in the water. Carefully put the sarong into the water and allow it to soak for 30-60 minutes.
After soaking, rinse the fabric thoroughly. Keep rinsing until all the detergent is gone. It's important to make sure that no residue is left behind.
Finally, wash the sarong on a delicate cycle with cold water. If your washing machine doesn't have a delicate cycle, you can use the gentle cycle instead. Don't ever use hot water or bleach as this can further damage the fabric.
Air drying is best option for drying your sarong. Avoid using a dryer as it can shrink the fabric and reduce its life span. Once sarong is completely dry, check for any remaining stains and repeat any of the above steps if needed.
Getting rid of diaper stains from a sarong doesn't have to be a difficult task. With these simple steps, you can easily remove those pesky stains and have your sarong looking as good as new.
