Things You'll Need

  • Laundry detergent
  • Cotton swabs
  • White vinegar
  • Baking soda
  • White cloth

Step 1: Treat it Immediately

As soon as you notice a diaper stain on your polo shirt, treat it immediately. Remove the excess diaper contamination off the fabric by lightly blotting it with a white cloth right away. Doing so will help keep the stain from spreading and soaking into material.

Step 2: Pre-treating the Stain

Mix some laundry detergent and warm water in a bowl. Stir it together until it forms a soapy mixture. Dip a cotton swab into soap solution and gently apply it to the stained area in circular motions. Let the solution sit for about 10 minutes, then rinse the polo shirt with cold water.

Step 3: Use White Vinegar and Baking Soda

If stain is still visible after pre-treating it, use white vinegar and baking soda as a next step. Mix equal parts of both ingredients to form a paste, then spread it evenly over the diaper stain. Let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes, then rinse the area with cold water and wipe off any residue.

Step 4: Launder It

After pre-treating and using the vinegar-baking soda mixture, launder shirt in the washing machine with cold water. Hang the polo shirt outside to air dry and inspect area for any remaining stains.

Step 5: Repeat If Necessary

If you don't see the desired results after laundering your shirt, repeat steps 2-4. Be persistent and the diaper stain should eventually come out.
