When dealing with a mild diaper stain, soap and water is often all you need. Wet the diaper stain with lukewarm water and then apply a small amount of soap directly onto the spot. Rub it in gently before rinsing the area with more lukewarm water.
Make a paste with baking soda and water, then apply it directly onto the stain and let it sit for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, rinse the paste off with lukewarm water.
Vinegar is known for its stain-removing properties. For a diaper stain, mix one cup of white vinegar with two cups of lukewarm water in a bowl. Dip a cloth into the solution and dab it onto the stain. Once done, rinse area with lukewarm water.
For tougher diaper stains, you can try a mixture of lemon juice and salt. Simply mix together equal parts of lemon juice and salt to make a thick paste. Rub the paste onto the diaper stain and let it sit for 30 minutes. Then, rinse the area with lukewarm water.
There are many commercially available stain removers on the market that can be used to treat diaper stains. Follow the instructions on the label and test the product on an inconspicuous area of the skirt before applying it directly to the diaper stain.
You can also pre-treat the stain before laundering. Launder the skirt using a mild detergent and cold water, and add a tablespoon of color-safe bleach and a cup of white vinegar to the water. Allow the skirt to soak for about 30 minutes, then rinse thoroughly before washing as usual.
If all else fails, you can always have your pencil skirt professionally cleaned. Many dry cleaners specialize in removing tough stains and have the necessary tools and products to do the job properly.
